A romp through the Glass Forest.

On Sunday I got the unique opportunity to explore a space that a local, accomplished artist created exceptionally close to home. Alan Goldstein, a painter working in rural Pennsylvania, has created an installation he has tentatively titled The Glass Forest, and he allowed myself and and two student dancers to come experience the art. I took stills and my good friend Alan Powell shot some video while our dancer friends Rose Huber and Candace Schaedel moved through the “trees.” Mr. Goldstein painted their movement as we worked. From what I’ve seen so far of each of our varied artistic endeavors, there is a wide span of different material that we created inspired by this Glass Forest in a short amount of time. I’m excited to see what Alan Goldstein does with the project and I was happy to have a small part in it.
